Why Personal Brands give Real Estate Agents the edge.
The real estate industry has never been more competitive. The internet, mobile devices, and social media have leveled the playing field. Now, more than ever, standing out from your competition will allow you to successfully attract new clients, close more deals, and grow your business. Here’s why personal brands give real estate agents the edge.
Investing in a personal brand is the key
Entrepreneur outlines personal branding perfectly in their article 5 Steps to Build Your Personal Brand. They say “Your personal brand is how you appear to the world…once people know who you are and begin to identify you with a specific area of understanding or expertise, you’ll be well on your way to becoming the go-to person in your niche or industry.”
Take a moment and think about a successful Realtor in your community.
What are they known for and how do they project themselves to their clients? They are more than Top Producers – they have invested in a personal brand that is working hard to booster their recognition within their community.
A personal brand strategically carves out a way to differentiate you and your service as distinctive and unique, allowing a client to choose your brand over those of your competitors.
Need a brand? Ask yourself these questions:
What is unique about my service that will have a buyer or seller choose me over someone else?
Does my current brand stand out from my competitors?
Does my website, social media pages and marketing materials reflect my unique value, look, feel, message and promise?
Have I positioned myself as an expert in my industry?
How can I brand myself while being regulated?
A common question I’m often asked. You’d be surprised to know that most franchise real estate brands, such as Remax, Coldwell Banker, Keller Williams, Royal Lepage, DFH etc, allow their agents to personally brand themselves. Each do have their own guidelines as to how you go about this. To find out what restrictions may be involved, take a quick peek at their branding standards.
In my experience, its often as simple as including their logo or name on your marketing materials.
