Remember, each and every potential follower will prefer to conduct business with you in a method they prefer. For some this means via your website, for others this will mean via Facebook, for others it will happen via Twitter, etc.

The idea is not to challenge these potential followers and customers. Instead, offer the links to your social media platforms and other online locations in an easy to find manner.

Help your audience do to business with you easily. Here’s how:

1. Define all the places your business can be found online. This list may include: website, blog, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Ebay, Etsy, MadeIt, even email.
2. Once you have a clear list, decide on how you wish to display these to your audience. This may be a series of designed icon images or it may just be linking text.
3. Now take a look at each online platform and decide which location to place these new buttons/links so that they will be seen and used easily. On a website, you might want to put them in the top header area of your home page. On Facebook you may wish to create a special tab called “Connect With Us” that contains all of your links. On your blog you may wish to place them in your main side bar.
