Easy & Cheap Facebook Marketing

Are you missing one of the biggest marketing opportunities Facebook has to offer for business pages? Marketing on social media can be tough, but this little tip will bring you BIG results…

The profile image is the only image found in the top left corner of your Facebook business page. This area is considered a constant element and one that should be used to its full potential. Did you know that this image can be a size of 180 pixels wide by 540 pixels high? Here’s how that size looks…

That’s a serious amount of real estate if you ask me, so be sure to maximize this marketing opportunity. Here’s how:

  1. Hire a designer (contact Boutique By Design, we’d love to help!) or use a photo editing program to create your own
  2. Make sure to keep your branding consistent on your facebook page so that you remain memorable in within your target market. Do this by using your logo as well as your brand colours, graphics and business concept. For example, if you have a website, make sure your Facebook profile image matches it.
  3. It a good idea to also include elements that quickly define your business within this image as well. This might be a list of services, popular products, a photograph, your tagline, your website URL, a mention of a special offer, etc. The idea is to grab and keep the attention of the viewer.
  4. Remember to keep this image orderly and nicely balanced. Too much content will result in an ineffective profile image.

For inspiration, here are some of the designs I’ve created for our clients:
